Öncelikle yaşamımın vazgeçilmezleri çiçekler ve kuşlara teşekkür etmek istiyorum. Her zaman oldukları gibi bu ayki yazıma da ilham oldular, bana enerji verdiler.
Baharın yanı sıra kısmen yazı hissedeceğimiz mekanları yaratırken, iç mimari dünyasına yön veren trendlerde seçimim, yenilikçi ve modern çizgiler.

I would like to start by thanking flowers and birds that are the essential parts of life. As always, they have been my inspiration to my column this month and have given me energy.
As we are creating spaces that feel like summer as well as spring, my preference in the trends that direct interior design is innovative and modern lives.

Beyaz, geçmişten günümüze uzanan bir tasarım yelpazesinin başlangıç noktasıdır benim için.

As a designer, designs where white is used very effectively has always struck my attention. I prefer exclusive designs, figures and embroideries designers create inspired by white. To me, white is the starting point of a design range that comes from past to present… White designs take its inspiration codes for the next season from new beginnings, new jobs and newlyweds. In this design journey, exciting designs, white shades are used together with gold, lame accessories which are both luxurious and minimalist.

Sizlere bu yazımda tasarım tarihinin kültür mirası 190 yıllık Thonet’in kendine özgün başarı hikâyesini anlatmak istiyorum. Michael Thonet’in tasarım tarihinde devrim niteliği taşıyan thonet çalışmaları ahşap bükme ve modüler üretim icadıyla endüstriyel mobilya üretimi için önemli bir temel oluşturdu. Michael Thonet’in 1859 yılında tasarladığı ‘214’ isimli cafe sandalyesi modern mobilya tarihinde bugüne kadar seri üretimde kalmış en başarılı ürün olarak bilinir. 214 no’lu sandalye, tarihte işgücünün evrelere ayrılarak endüstrileştirildiği ilk mobilya örneğidir.

In this month’s article, I’d like to tell you the unique success story of the 190-year old Thonet, a true cultural heritage. Michael Thonet’s revolutionary work of bentwood and modular furniture production inventions became an important base of industrial furniture production. The “214” named coffee shop chair designed by Michel Thonet in 1859 is known as the most successful piece in modern furniture history, remaining in production until today. The 214 chair is the first piece of furniture in history which was industrialized by dividing labor into phases.

Kutulanması ve modüler olarak parçalara ayırarak istiflenebilmesi sayesinde, 36 adet sandalyenin bir metreküp hacime sığabildiği ilk örnek olarak tarihe geçer. Bu şekilde dünya çapında satışı ve sevkiyatı 1900 yılların başlarından bugüne global ticaretin ilk örnekleri arasına girmiştir. Bu modele daha sonra aynı teknik ile üretilen yeni modeller ekleniyor; 1860’ta da 1 no’lu sallanan sandalye, 18 ve 56 no’lu sandalyeler ve 1900’lerde eklenen, Le Corbusier in hayran olduğu 209 no’lu model. 1912 yılına gelindiğinde Thonet markası altında iki milyon farklı model üretiliyor ve dünya çapında satılıyordu.

By help of putting the furniture in boxes and storing in pieces in a modular way, it is the first example in history where 36 chairs fit in a space of 1m3. This way, its sales and transportation worldwide has continued from the beginning of the 1900s until today, becoming first among its examples. Other designs later join this chair with the same production technique; No.1 Rocking chair in 1860, chairs number 18 and 56 and the number 209 added in the 1900s which was the favorite of Le Corbusier. By 1912, more than 2 million different designs were produced and sold worldwide under the name Thonet.

Bu sandalyeler tarihe mal olmuş düşünür, yazar ve müzisyenlerin de hızla hayatına girmişti. Leo Tolstoy tüm evinde Thonet’in bu modellerini kullanıyordu. Johann Strauss’un bütün orkestrası bu sandalyelerde oturuyordu, Pablo Picasso evinde bu serinin sallanan modelinde vaktini geçiriyor, Charlie Chaplin film karelerinde bu modele yer veriyordu. Arkeolog Howard Carter da, Krallar Vadisindeki mezarında Tutankhamun un bedenini bu model üzerinde inceliyordu.

These chairs quickly got into the lives of many historical philosophers, writers and musicians. Leo Tolstoy used Thonet’s designs in his whole house. The entire orchestra of Johann Strauss sat on these chairs; Pablo Picasso would spend his time in his house on a bentwood rocking chair and Charlie Chaplin used this design in his movies. Archeologist Howard Carter examined the tomb of Tutankhamen in the Valley of the Kings on a bentwood chair.

Bugün, Michael Thonet’in doğrudan torunu olan Peter Thonet, aile şirketini, yönetim ve üretim tesislerinin bulunduğu Frankenberg/Eder’de yürütüyor. Ünlü ahşap bükümü mobilya ve Bauhaus döneminden çelik boru mobilya klasiklerine, aralarında Stefan Diez, Naoto Fukasawa, Norman Foster, James Irvine, Lepper Schmidt Sommerlade, Glen Oliver Löw’ün de bulunduğu tanınmış mimar ve tasarımcılarının modern tasarımları eşlik ediyor.

Today, Michael Thonet’s direct grandchild Peter Thonet continues their family company, management and production facilities in Frankenberg/Eder. Modern designs of famous architects and designers such as Stefan Diez, Naoto Fukasawa, Norman Foster, James Irvine, Lepper Schmidt Sommerlade and Glen Oliver Löw accompany the famous bentwood furniture and steel pipe furniture classics from the Bauhaus era.

Thonet’in bu bağlamda küresel bir dağıtım ağı da bulunuyor. 1989 yılında Frankenberg’de açılan Thonet müzesi bugün hala tasarım dünyasının en çok ilgi gösterdiği müzelerden biri olarak sayılıyor. Günümüzde çağdaş tasarımda verdiği mücadeleden ötürü Türkiye’de Koleksiyon firmasını Bauhaus ekolüne yakın tuttuğu için Thonet’i Koleksiyon firmasıyla iş birliğine götürmüştür…

In this frame, Thonet also has a global distribution network. The Thonet museum opened in 1989 in Frankenberg is still considered to be one of the most important museums of the design world. Today, due to their efforts in modern design world, Koleksiyon in Turkey has collaborated with Thonet’s Collection company as they see them close to the Bauhause school.

NEO-KLASİK ŞIKLIĞI.. / The style of Neoclassıcısm…

Yaza girdiğimiz şu günlerde sizler için seçtiğim en çok beğendiğim stillerden olan Neo-klasik stilde tasarlanan mekanların yanı sıra serinletici banyo tasarımları var. Stilin en önemli özelliği, geometrik şekilleriyle ortaya çıkan şık tasarımlar.

As we are entering the summer season, I have chosen for you Neoclassic spaces which are among my favorite and also cooling bathroom designs. The most important feature of this style is the chic lines created with geometric shapes.

Bu tasarımlar İtalya’da en iyi moda tasarımcılarının yer aldığı Toscana, ayrıca Fransa, İspanya, Portekiz ve İngiltere’de profesyonel bir ekip tarafından üretiliyor. Seçimlerini yaptığım marka ise dünyaca ünlü İtalyan markası olan Devon&Devon. 1989 yılında Floransa’da kurulmuştur. Neo-klasik stilin tüm özelliklerini üzerinde taşıyan banyo ve mermer desenleri Avrupa’da üretilmektedir.

These designs are made in Toscana in Italy where the best designers are, as well as in France, Spain, Portugal and the UK by professional teams. The brand I chose is Devon&Devon, the world famous Italian company. The company was established in 1989 in Florence. Bathroom and marble designs that bear all the characteristics of the neoclassic style are produced in Europe.

Üretiminin temel özelliği ‘orijinalliği’ ile geçmişin cazibesini hissettirebilen ürünler üretmektir. Avrupa’nın klasik havasından ve Amerika’nın 1900’lü yıllarından esinlenerek tasarımlarına ilham katmıştır. Yüksek kalitedeki malzemeler, çağdaş, klasik, estetik ve rahat kullanımlı ürünlerin ana özelliklerindendir. Yaratılan tasarımların en önemli özelliği, banyolarında salonlardaki şıklık ve bir o kadar da rahatlığa sahip olmasıdır.

With the main principle of their production, ‘originality’, they can create items that reflect the attraction of the past. The company has been influenced by the classic ambiance of Europe and the style of the USA in the 1900s. High quality materials are the most important characteristic of their contemporary, classic, aesthetic and comfortable products. The most important feature of the designs is that bathrooms are as stylish as they are comfortable just as in living rooms.

2013 yılında mimarlar tarafından da tercih edilen neo-klasik detaylar, geometrik şekiller ve özel el işçiliği ve elegan çizgi mekanlarda vurgulanıyor. 1940’lardaki art deco stili çizgilerin güncellenmiş haliyle bu seneki tasarımlarda da yer almaya devam ediyor.

Neoclassic details, which were also preferred by architects in 2013, are emphasized in locations through geometric shapes, exclusive custom made work and elegant lines. The art-deco style of the 1940s continues to take its place in this year’s designs with their updated lines.

DOĞAYI DESTEKLEYEN ŞIK MUTFAKLAR / Stylısh kıtchens those support the nature

Günümüzde mutfağını yeniden tasarlamak ve yenilemek isteyenlerin işi çok kolay görünmesine rağmen aslında çok zor. Neden mi? Çünkü her geçen gün teknolojik yeniliklere uyum sağlama süreci doğrultusunda; daha şık, daha rahat, daha gelişmiş mutfaklar tasarlanıyor ve insan seçimde zorlanıyor. Modern, klasik ana başlıklarda renk, stil, malzeme ve fonksiyonel olarak göze çarpan mutfaklar cazibeleriyle yemek yapma ve zevkle de bu yemeği sevdiklerinizle birlikte yeme isteğini kamçılıyor.

Nowadays although it seems like it’s easy to redesign and restore the kitchens, as a matter of fact it’s difficult. You know why? Because day by day more stylish, more comfortable and developed kitchens are designed in the direction of orientating technological developments, it’s hard to choose. In Modern, classic main topics, the kitchens are conspicuous as color, style, material and functional. The attractiveness stimulates the cooking and eating desire.

Son günlerde biz tasarımcılar, mutfaklar arasında seçim yapmakta zorlanırken, beni teknolojisi kadar doğa konseptiyle etkileyen mutfaklardan Nolte’yi bu yazımda kullanmak istedim. Bir klasik değerinde olan Nolte Mutfak, üstün Alman teknolojisinin yanı sıra, doğa temasını desteklemesi sebebiyle beni etkisi altına almayı başardı.

While having a difficulty to make a choose between the kitchens, I wanted to use Nolte in my article which impressed me with not only its technology but also its nature concept. Nolte kitchen is worth of classic, besides its advanced German technology, it managed to take hold of me owing to support the nature theme.

İleri teknolojinin ekolojik anlayışında, yenilikçi tasarımları mutfaklarda da kullanarak hayatımızı kolaylaştırmamız artık çok kolay. Mutfaklarda, minimalist stilin yanı sıra, futuristik klasik stilin seçimi size kalmış. Gerçi son günlerde moda ve iç mimaride oklar 1950 ve1960 lı yılların yanı sıra eklektizmi gösteriyor.

As we all know, respect to nature and environmental conscious began to increase lately. The ecologic design is as important as esthetic style and functionality ever after. In ecologic consciousness of advanced technology, it’s easy to make our lives easier by using innovative designs in the kitchens. You may either choose minimalist style or futuristic classic style…it depends on you. The fashion shows 1950’s and 1960’s interior architecture as well as eclecticism though.
