Bu ayki yazımda sizlere Ortaköy’de Mimar Sinan’ın eseri Hüsrev Kethüda Hamamı’nda sergilenen modern tasarımlardan bahsedeceğim. Modern tasarım koleksiyon Alp Nuhoğlu, Arif Özden, Aziz Sarıyer, Defne Koz, Koral Erat ve Tanju Özelgin’in özgün tasarımlarından oluşuyor. Tarihi eser niteliğinde olan hamamda sergilenen mobilyalar, özel tasarımcılarla tasarlandığı için ayrıca ilgi çekici.

In this month’s column, I would like to talk about the modern designs exhibited at the Hüsrev Kethüda Hamam of Mimar Sinan in Ortaköy. The modern design collection consists of unique pieces of Alp Nuhoğlu, Arif Özden, Aziz Sarıyer, Defne Koz, Koral Erat and Tanju Özelgin. The furniture exhibited at the hamam which is considered to be a historical building, are at the same time very interesting since they were designed by special designers.

Nedenine gelince son yıllarda oldukça revaçta olan tarihsel mekanlarla harmanlanan modern tasarımlar zıt ama hoş bir armoni yakalıyor. Zıtlıkların bir arada tasarlandığı bu mekanlardaki stili eklektik diye adlandırabiliriz. Son yıllarda tasarımcıların kullandığı bu stil geçmişten tarihsel özellik taşıyan bir hamamda yapılırsa gerçekten etkileyici olabiliyor. Ayrıca sergilenen tasarımlar canlı renklerde olursa da zıtlıkla, çarpıcılık artıyor. Bu stili; mağazalarda, otellerde, restoranlarda; hatta eviniz tarihsel özellikteyse, rahatlıkla uygulayabiliriz. Bu stili hamamda uygulayan Delta Mobilya’nın bu mağazadaki hedefi ülkenin tasarımcılarıyla birlikte kendilerini geliştirebilecekleri bir tasarım merkezi yaratmak.
And for the reason why; modern designs blended with historical locations which is very popular in the last years, catch a clashing but nice harmony. We can call the style of these locations where contradictions are designed together as eclectic. When this style so frequently used in the last years is applied in a hamam from the past, the results can be really striking. Also, when the exhibited pieces are in vivid colors the striking effect increases with this contradiction. You can use this style in stores, in hotels, restaurants, even at your home if it has a historical element. The aim of Delta Furniture who used this style in the hamam is to create a design center where they can improve themselves together with the country’s designers.

Mekan, tarihsel özelliğinin yanı sıra tasarımcıları ve tasarım sevenleri buluşturan bir sosyal etkinlik alanı da olacak şekilde planlandığı için ve workshopların düzenleneceği, tasarımcıların periyodik olarak konuşma yapacakları, çeşitli sanatsal sergilere yer verdiği için de ilgi çekici.
Since the location is designed to turn into a social events venue to host designers and design fans, aside from its historical being, it is very appealing because of the workshops to be held and presentations by designers as well as various artistic exhibitions.
